Soft Wash – With the Soft Wash option, we are treating the surface with strong cleaners and mildewcides. We allow that to dwell and then wash very, very lightly. Our goal is to remove little to no polymeric sand. This cleans hardscaping walls and paver faces beatifully. The one area, this process can not excel at, is when polymeric sand is dark blak from mold. If black in color, then mold has a frim growth into you polymeric sand or grout layer. In this case, to make it look new again, full restoration may be needed.
Restoration – Restoration is a much more involved process, however, the results are incredible. With a full restoration we are cleaning, removing the old polymeric sand, installing new polymeric sand (with a tamping process), and sealing if desired. Full restoration requires a more aggressive cleaning to remove the old polymeric sand, there is no way to do this without using some high pressure. After the patio has a few days to a week to dry out we then return to tamp in some new polymeric sand. And finally, if desired, we will return for a third visit and seal the pavers and sand. Sealing helps the surface stay clean longer and dry out faster after rain.
Maintenance – Once you do a full restoration it is important to do annual or bi annual cleaning to keep hardscaping in tip top shape. We are happy to help with this but also give homeowners a DIY mix to do this your self very easily.
